‘Voer de bij bij’-campaign 2026

What is Voer de Bij Bij?

Voer de Bij Bij is the annual spring campaign by The Pollinators, aimed at creating food sources for bees and other pollinating insects. There is room for 5,000 Bee Food Banks in the Netherlands and 1,000 Bee Food Banks in Flanders.
At these Bee Food Banks, anyone can pick up free, pesticide-free native flower seeds to sow in their neighbourhood, garden, or balcony. One packet can colour a surface of 2m² with flowers.
Alldrain has also registered as a food bank and will be making packets of flower seeds available from 22 April on National Sowing Day, when seeds are sown en masse across the Netherlands and Flanders. The packets will be offered at the start of the blossom route next to the company, in collaboration with the municipality of Dentergem.

Why is it important to feed pollinating insects?

Pollinating insects are having a hard time. They play a crucial role in the pollination of crops — after all, more than 70% of our food depends on pollination by bees and related insects.
The Pollinators have been committed for years to providing more food for pollinators and increasing biodiversity. By creating food sources for pollinating insects and involving as many people as possible in protecting these small but vital creatures, we contribute to a healthy ecosystem.
