Alldrain opens doors to the community with innovative sustainability project

With pride we can announce that Alldrain has been selected as the only West Flemish company for a special subsidy project of the Flemish government. In the coming two years we will transform our site in Dentergem: we will make the environment greener, more sustainable and more accessible to neighborhood residents.

Together with the neighborhood

As a manufacturer of drainage pipes, we have been focusing on sustainability for some time, including with our biodegradable products. Recently we installed two public charging points for electric cars at our entrance, and the meadow next to our site has been accessible for years for neighborhood activities such as Camping Tentergem.

Now we are taking another step further. “The parking area between our two gates will be de-paved and we will make our facades greener,” explains project manager Rob Kursten. “An important aspect is also smart handling of rainwater. Instead of letting it flow to the sewer, we will collect it in a special storage facility on the meadow.”

New destination for office space

Our unused office building is also getting a new purpose, with us actively seeking ideas from neighborhood residents and associations. “We use the model of the Future Design Movement,” explains coordinator Heidi van Hoof. “This means we invite citizens to think along about the future of their living environment.”

The complete transformation of our site should be ready in 2026. We look forward to shaping this sustainable change together with the neighborhood.
